I'm on the shallow end of the need it to get pregnant pool. And I hate it over here. Everyone here talking about how abstaining is a burden but blah de blah and spacing children is good and necessary sometimes or else they are saying that NFP is all fine and dandy but they do without it because they would love to have ten kids. And I'm over here like, I hate NFP but I need to use it. I hate it so much. I just want to be carefree and let go and let God but boohoo to me I guess. We've been blessed to get pregnant very easily - actually, I'm VERY glad that breastfeeding works as birth control for us because we're not very good at NFP, LOL. :) However, I have other friends who've struggled with it and it has at times been hard in our marriage too. I do love knowing my cycle and not taking pills or medicine that I don't need but charting does get dull. We use NFP, and I agree - it isn't paradise...your article calls out a different paradise, though, than how NFP is usually portrayed. Thank you for this faith-focused view.
